So I was perusing the Internet when I came upon this page titled, The Filipina and “Yan ang Pinay”.
“Yan ang Pinay” is the de facto name of an informal campaign to change the top search engine results for the word “Filipina.” This is being done because the top results do not reflect the many diverse facets of the modern Filipina.
The page explains thing further but I guess I just find the results interesting. Google “filipina” and sure enough, you get loads of links of filipinas seeking foreign husbands and sites jazzing up the exoticism of Filipinas. Shoot, blogs are supposed to be commentary but I guess I’m posting because I’m intrigued.
