Our Cotton Anniversary

The traditional gift for a second wedding anniversary is something related to the material cotton. It symbolizes the need for a marriage to remain strong and be able to adapt to changes. Cotton is sought after because of its practicality; the many uses include clothing and household materials. Its longlasting aspect is hoped to be reciprocal in a marriage.

My favorite lines from my father-in-law to me:

“So tell me, do you use chopsticks at home?”
– First time we met

“Want a piece of advice? Be careful about drinking too much at a business event.”
– Every dinner out

“You look beautiful.”
- Every time I wore a dress

“Jamie, you honor our family by joining it.”
– Wedding speech

“Pour me a glass, I can’t let Jamie drink alone.”
– Last Christmas

“You know, you’re the best thing that’s happened to him.”
– Last Week

Truth Be Told

Holidazzle 2010 | by rprins

I’m not a fan of below freezing temperatures.

Ryan took this photo of me trying to stay warm during the Holidazzle parade in downtown Minneapolis. The funny part is that this was probably the least cold (and thus best) night to go during the time we were there. Climate aside, it was super cute and we ate hot mini doughnuts as waited for the parade to start. Besides, these guys were DELIGHTFUL. Paul and Jordan joined us too! It was a nice night in the city.
