Jay & Suzara’s Wedding
Saturday was the big day for my cousin Jay’s wedding. I woke up around 11AM, stumbled out into the hotel hallway and walked in my pajamas down to my Tita Susie’s room to ask if she could do my hair. Everyone was getting ready and looking sharp. Soon it was off to the ceremony and mad family photo time, followed by a trip back to the Wyndham for the reception.
There, the setup was gorgeous. See, I’m the type of person who loves weddings and has gone to dozens growing up, always taking note of how they’re put together. (As such I’ve had my wedding planned in excrutiating detail since I was a little. :P) I have to say that this wedding was one of the most impressive that I’ve been to. There was super attention to detail (all 300+ guests had their own name cards for the seating arrangements—even all the Guevara cousins in their 20’s were grouped together), elegance (see table setting), fun (the wedding party entered the reception hall to the Mortal Kombat soundtrack), plus all the usual Filipino wedding traditions that I <3.
Hors d’oeuvres started at six (which were mighty good) and I walked around with some of my cousins outside by the fountain. The wedding party had their energetic entrances, toasts were made, cake was cut. Dinner was sit-down, rather than buffet-style, and started with a pasta, followed by a salad, a sorbet, grilled chicken, filet mignon, and chocolate cake. Not to mention the open bar that my brother took full advantage of. Met a few more new cousins and then it was dancing ’til midnight. Loitered with the cousins around the hotel for a while after the reception until we finally called it a night. It was one crazy celebration.

Hi…I found your website while looking for wedding reception locations and I was wondering which Wyndham in the chicagoland area did your cousin Jay get married at… It looks beautiful.
Thanks!
